"A mother from New Jersey roams the hills of Lockerbie Scotland, looking for her son's remains that were lost in the crash of Pan Am 103. She meets the women of Lockerbie, who are fighting the U.S. government to obtain the clothing of the victims found in the plane's wreckage. The women, determined to convert an act of hatred into an act of love, want to wash the clothes of the dead and return them to the victim's families... Written in the structure of a Greek tragedy, it is a poetic drama about the triumph of love over hate. Winner of the silver medal in the Onassis International Playwriting Competition and the Kennedy Center Fund for New American Plays award.

"A moving, thoughtful exploration of how grief changes over time." —The New Yorker. "…catches the grim mood [of a terrorist attack] better than anything I've yet seen on the subject of 9/11 and its aftermath. In its tightly controlled depiction of collective sorrow…it becomes almost unbearably moving." —Daily Telegraph (London). "Playwright Deborah Brevoort has a gift for high poetry and her descriptions of the day when death came raining down on Scotland are impressively moving…endowed with character, poetry and a core of touching emotion…" —Time Out London. "…gives powerful voice to a disturbingly contemporary anguish: how to respond to suffer-ing caused by a terrorist attack…the play has the power to move an audience to new hope in a world witnessing continual acts of revenge and hatred." —Sydney Morning Herald (Australia). "This finely honed play has the formal beauty of a Greek tragedy. The result is a play where not a minute is wasted in verbiage—where you are gripped from the opening moment and not released until the end." —Green Left Weekly (Australia)"

Come see the soft release of Shley's newest two singles,

"Tea Party" and "YoGang!"

Shley will open Yoga Central's 500-hour teacher training class with a rap show!  Admission is free (donations accepted).  Come for the show and if you qualify, stay for Yoga Central's teacher training!

Details on the teacher training:

This is an advanced training for those who have satisfactorily completed the 200-hour YTT.

The course will take 2 to 3 years, going at your own pace, and some of the choices of direction and topic will be your own, so that you can follow your interests.

Also, please note, that this is an academic course, a spiritual pilgrimage and a philosophical adventure more than it is about asana. We look at different points of view and new ways of looking at the world and ourselves, maybe even more often than we look at alignment in a pose. Of course, we are interested in all aspects of yoga, but the philosophy and the spirituality are emphasized more than the asanas. Taking this course, you will make great progress on anatomy, you will learn more about the history and heritage of yoga, and about yoga nidra, mudras, the koshas and the therapeutic applications of yoga.

The meditation course is included. The hands-on assisting class on Feb. 4 is included (below). Attendance at any of the regular yoga classes at The Yoga Place and Yoga Central are included for two years- that’s a $1400 value alone. Required books are also included. We want this to be affordable for you.

Note: this is also known as a 300-hour course. The “500 hour" comes from adding on your previous 200-hour training.

$2750 per student (payment plans are available)
